The Pack Family Post – Fall 2025 Edition

News you can use. Pride you can share.

A welcome message for families during PFW

Welcome Letter from the Executive Director

Dear Wolfpack Family,

Welcome! To our returning families, welcome back, and to our first-timers, welcome to the Wolfpack Family. We are so glad you are here.

NC State’s Parents and Families Services is a resource office dedicated to supporting, informing and engaging the parents and families of our students. We do this through a variety of programs, special events and communications, just like this one, The Pack Family Post; an electronic newsletter designed to share helpful resources, essential reminders and exciting updates from many members of our team and campus partners. These include, but are not limited to, Campus Enterprises, Transportation and a very special message from Chancellor Howell.

In every edition, we will share helpful links to our monthly Conversation Calendar, the updated Academic Calendar and a printable version of the 2025-2026 Family Handbook/Calendar publication.

As your student starts the fall, remind them to take advantage of upcoming events like the Student Org. Fairs, Rec Fest, and of course, Packapalooza, along with many more! All are part of our annual Wolfpack Welcome Weeks. Student involvement is key, and we encourage your students to explore a variety of activities, some of which they may already be familiar with and others that offer a new adventure, to find their favorites and build their on-campus community.

Last but certainly not least, we hope to see you all at our upcoming Parents and Families Weekend, Oct. 3-5. With a dynamic lineup of events, there will surely be something fun for everyone in the family. Registration opens* on Wed., Aug. 27. Events are sold à la carte, and many do fill up quickly. More information is listed below.

In closing, we are so glad you are here. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have questions or concerns. We are here to support you in championing your students’ success.

May the year ahead be a howling success. GO PACK!

Sincerely,
Kerri Fowler
Executive Director, Parents and Families Services

WELLNESS DAY-Paws and Reflect

The next Wellness Day will be taking place on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2025.

Classes are not held on Wellness Days. Campus resources and activities are designed to help students care for their whole selves. NC STATE DINING

All Campus Accounts + Dining Dollar Reminders

Your student can monitor their All Campus and Dining accounts throughout the semester on the GET app. Set reminders on your calendar for Fall Break, Thanksgiving, Winter Break and Spring Break to review their usage and ensure they are getting the most out of their plan. Your student can also Ask for Funds through the App, sending a notice to you that they are low on Dining Dollars or All Campus Funds. If your student plans to use WolfPrint (the campus printers), ensure there is adequate funds in the All Campus account, as it’s the only payment method accepted.

For any questions or assistance, contact the Wolfpack One Card office at wolfpack-one-card@ncsu.edu. You can also visit dining.ncsu.edu or onecard.ncsu.edu.

Upcoming Dining Events

We’re excited to share some fantastic dining events that your student won’t want to miss!

  • Pick Local Fridays: Encourage your student to savor fresh, local flavors at our Pick Local Fridays! Our dining halls feature produce from NC State’s Agroecology Farm and other North Carolina-based vendors.
  • September 17: Latinx Heritage Meal at Clark Dining Hall
  • September 24: All Carolinas Dinner at Fountain Dining Hall

For all upcoming events, visit dining.ncsu.edu/about/events/.

TRANSPORTATION

Take the hassle out of gameday and ride the Red Terror bus service, which offers a free and convenient ride to all NC State Football games, including the 10/4 game vs. Campbell. It’s the most convenient way to get to and from Carter-Finley Stadium.

Additional updates and reminders from Transportation

All students are eligible for a free GoPass, providing unlimited rides on the entire GoRaleigh and GoTriangle bus networks. This is a valuable, cost-saving benefit that makes getting around the region simple and convenient.

For complete details and instructions on getting your pass, visit: go.ncsu.edu/gopass.

If your student has a bike on campus, make sure it is registered! It’s a mandatory requirement for all riders, and the best part? It’s completely free. Registration is one layer of defense against theft and helps in recovery if their bike goes missing.

Find all the details at: go.ncsu.edu/bike

University Housing Reminders

Help your student start strong and remind them to complete their roommate agreement and PackChat. Both are quick and important steps to building a great community experience. Encourage them to keep an eye on their email for upcoming fun and helpful events, like the Wolf Den Challenge and the Housing Fair!

Stay Connected

To ensure you continue to receive communications from Parents and Families Services, including but not limited to essential university messages, e-newsletters, special events and the monthly conversation calendar, please set up your Brickyard account. Your student initiated this process in their MyPack Portal account. Students can replicate this process for more than one parent or family member.

Each individual account must be completed with a preferred email address AND the “opt-in” button for communications checked.

Please note that we are unable to communicate with any family member(s) who do not have the opt-in button for communications checked OR who have not been granted FERPA (Federal Rights Privacy Act) access by their student.
