What is your favorite NC State tradition and/or memory? Football games at Carter-Finley and the home win over UNC Tarheels Nov 2021

What single NC State resource has your student benefitted from the most? Cooperative Education Program – The opportunities he has had in his co-op job have been wonderful. The hands-on learning experience coupled with his classroom education is fantastic. He has enjoyed the experience immensely and he will be well prepared to pursue his mechanical engineering career upon graduation.

One piece of advice for new Pack Parents? Try not to worry too much and if you do have a specific concern reach out to Parents & Family Services. As an out-of-state family, we were not always aware of the resources that are available so I reached out to PFS several times during freshman year.

Benefit(s) of joining the Pack Family Regions Network. If you’re an OOS parent, it’s great to connect and share experiences or questions/concerns with other families who live in your part of the country. Sometimes OOS students and parents have a unique perspective or slightly different set of needs from in-state families. Local NC families are very supportive and welcoming to OOS students but it’s also helpful to know some families in your own region.
