Region 1
Meet Angela Cassano
Angela Cassano is from Midlothian, Virginia and the regional chair for the Richmond area. She is the parent of a junior NC State student in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS). Learn more about Angela below.
What is your favorite NC State tradition and/or memory? Lighting the NCSU Bell Tower red after any sports team wins against an ACC team. Being there in person with our daughter to see it when the switch flipped to light red for the 2024 ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament Final and watching the streets fill with students celebrating is a memory highlight for sure!
What single NC State resource has your student benefitted from the most? No way to name a single resource. The NCSU Hunt Seat Equestrian Team, CALS Ambassador program, NCSU Study Abroad, and DRO have all benefitted our student.
One piece of advice for new Pack Parents? Encourage your student to get involved! I know it sounds cliché, but there is something for every student, and faculty/staff/other students are full of suggestions for how to get involved if your student needs help finding their best fit.
Benefit(s) of joining the Pack Family Regions Network. Richmond, Virginia (RVA) is a new region for Parents and Families Services (PFS) this year, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t already a network here! We have enjoyed meeting other families and students from the area and tailgating/watching sporting events together. Families have worked together to help with providing rides for students and delivering items to Raleigh when needed. The RVA Pack is strong, and we looking forward to expanding this group!
