A special message from your Regional 3 Chair-Veronica Weber

Dear Region 3 Families,

Hello, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself.  My name is Veronica Weber and I am the parent chair for NC State’s Pack Family Region 3.  I want to welcome back those who are returning to campus and also welcome to the Pack all those new families whose students will be attending State this fall.

My family lives in Bethpage, New York (Long Island). I have a son who is a junior at State majoring in both animal science and history (I know, two very opposite degrees). I also have a child who will be a junior in high school this fall and is also very interested in attending State.

Our college experience started a bit rocky because of COVID. My son started at State in the Fall of 2020.  I was very concerned about sending him to a school where he knew no one and was so far away in the middle of a pandemic.  My concerns turned to happiness as I watched my son grow and mature. I think my greatest advice is to have your child find their community.  For my son, it was his Jefferson Scholars program, where he found a great group of friends and fantastic, encouraging professors.  For your student, it might be a fraternity or sorority, marching band, a religious organization, a living and learning village or a club.  NC State offers so many opportunities to get involved.  Encourage your students to go try different organizations and find their community!

Pack Family Regions is a new program and I would welcome any ideas or suggestions for our region. I hope that this Region 3 group will be a place to get to know other State parents in our area, and have a group that can answer questions, and helps one another.  If anyone is interested in helping chair this group I would be grateful for the assistance. Please feel free to email me with any questions and if I can’t answer them I will reach out to someone who can.  You can reach me at Veronica@vmweber.com.

Welcome to NC State Pack Family Region 3 and Go Pack!!

Sincerely,
Veronica Weber
