Hi parents and families of NC State! My name is Karishma Kate Pearson, and I am a sophomore majoring in Chemistry and minoring in Creative Writing. My birthplace is Grand Forks, North Dakota, and I have been living in Raleigh since 2017. I was raised in a military family and have lived in two other countries. I am a new Parent Ally with the Office of Parents and Families Services for the 2025-2026 academic year. 

Here at NC State, I’m an active member of the Pre-Dental Honors Society Club and Improv. Club. One of my writing pieces was showcased at NC State’s First-Year Writing Showcase at D.H. Hill Library in the Spring of 2025. Some of my favorite things to do in my free time are drawing, playing video games, and crocheting.

As a Parent Ally, I’m looking forward to being involved with Parents and Families Weekend, connecting with families during Coffee Chats on Fridays, and helping the families of NC State students throughout the semester. I’m excited and beyond thankful to be a part of the Parents and Families Services team this year!
