Introduction: Pack Family Ally

Hi Pack Families!

My name is Isabella Ricks, and I’m a third-year student from Charlotte, NC. I am majoring in Communications with a minor in journalism.  While I’m not totally sure of what I want to do with my degree in the future, I envision that whatever career path I choose will allow me to express and deepen my passion for writing and visual curation. Outside of school, I enjoy listening to music, spending way too much money on clothes and sweet treats, and playing Roblox with my friends and siblings.

As a first-generation student, I came into college worried about how I was going to have fun, make memories that I’d fondly look back on, and be involved on campus while still showing up to class every day and making good grades. Luckily for me, becoming part of the Pack Family Ally Program has put all of my concerns to rest. I’m surrounded by a wonderful group of people who either share or understand my academic commitments and are willing to help me learn and grow–not just as an ally, but as a student and a person.

With that being said, I’m super excited to spend the year working with Parents and Families Services, and even more excited to meet other students and their families as they begin or continue their journey here at NC State.

Isabella Ricks,

Pack Family Ally
