Welcome Spring Entry Families!
Greetings Wolfpack Families! As the second semester begins, I would like to extend a warm welcome to the spring entry parents and families of new NC State students. Congratulations not only to your student, but to you for your support and care along this leg of your student’s academic journey. The Office of Parents and Families Services recognizes that beginning your NC State journey in the spring can feel a little different from a traditional fall start. Whether your student is joining us from another institution, returning after time away or starting college for the first time, they bring valuable experiences and perspectives that enrich our campus.
As parents and family members, your role continues to be an important one. Through newsletters, campus events and timely communications, we work to keep you informed and connected to what’s happening at NC State. In addition to these communications, we offer a few resources designed specifically to support and engage you with the university. Each year at new student orientation, we distribute a Family Handbook and Calendar that highlights important academic and campus dates while also providing helpful information to navigate the university experience. Please take a moment to read this publication and contact our office should you have any questions. Families can also connect with other NC State families in their community through our Pack Family Regions program, which allows Wolfpack families across the country to build community by hosting and attending local gatherings and dinners. Every other Friday during the academic year (excluding breaks), our office hosts virtual Coffee Chats. These sessions are an opportunity for you to ask questions, share concerns or just drop in to say hello. During each session, one or two of our Pack Family Allies, who are current students, join to share their experiences and insights, giving you helpful perspectives to pass along to your student. Finally, our VIP Card Program offers exclusive discounts at participating hotels, restaurants and businesses, just one of the ways we show appreciation for our NC State families. We encourage you to take advantage of these resources to learn more about campus resources, important dates and ways to support your student throughout their time here.
We invite you to join us for Spring Fling, scheduled for March 6 – 8, a miniature version of Parents and Families Weekend. Registration is open until February 16, 2026, and it’s a fun way to connect with campus, enjoy activities and celebrate Wolfpack traditions with your family.
We are so excited to welcome you into the Wolfpack family and look forward to supporting you during this next chapter. If you ever have any questions, concerns, or you just want to say hello, please do not hesitate to reach out to the Office of Parents and Families Services; we are here to support you.
