Protecting the Pack’s Health

Hey Wolfpack Families! Students are now back on campus for this Spring Semester and ready to go to classes. Your student needs to stay healthy throughout the semester and avoid getting others and themselves sick. Here are some tips for your student to keep in mind.

The best way for students to keep up with their wellness is through the Campus Health Center. Students can make appointments with a variety of providers who can provide different services, such as the pharmacy to pick up medications, physical therapy, vaccinations, and primary care with check-ups. As a student who gets medication from the Campus Health Center, it’s super convenient to have an appointment with my provider and get my medication on the same day! There are centers on both the Main Campus and the Centennial

Your student’s health is more than check-ups; they should stay active as well. The Wellness and Recreation Center and Carmichael Gym have a broad selection of activities for students to participate in, with an indoor track to time their mile runs, climbing gear to top out on the OA walls, swim laps at the Casey Aquatic Center, play basketball with friends in one of the many courts available and work up a sweat with different workout machines around the building.

Sometimes, sickness can be anywhere around campus and it’s important to remember general health advice when it comes to interacting with a campus environment. Washing hands, sanitizing areas and reduce sharing of items with others can help your student avoid getting sick. Encourage your student to keep their areas tidy by wiping down tables and taking out the trash. If your student does get sick, they can receive a Get Well Meal Kit delivered to their door if they live on campus and should isolate themselves from others. Your student’s health is more important than attending lectures. Wish your student good luck with their semester and stay healthy!
