Hello Pack Families! My name is Serena Allsworth, and I am a third-year student in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at NC State. My major is Social Work, and I plan to use my degree to become a Child Protective Services Caseworker. I am so excited to be joining Parent and Families Services!

In my free time, I love to go on walks and listen to music. My favorite areas to walk are around lakes and through the trails. I also love going to concerts! I was born in Michigan but moved to the Outer Banks as a child. I missed the snow and the nature in Michigan, which is what intrigued me about NC State: the difference in area compared to the Outer Banks, as well as the Social Work program here.

I am a member of the College Mentors for Kids program here at NC State. We mentor elementary school students after their classes. Being part of this program has been especially meaningful to me because I enjoy building relationships with younger students and helping them feel supported and encouraged. I hope this job will allow me to build relationships with parents as well!
