Introduction: New Parent Ally

Hi NC State families! My name is Kiran Muttathil and I am a freshman here at State studying Industrial and Systems Engineering. I’m new to the Parents and Families Services team as a Parent Ally for the 2023-2024 school year and I’m so excited to get started.

I was born and raised in Cherry Hill, NJ and found my way to NC State through Park Scholarships. I am a Park Scholar in the class of 2027 and have absolutely loved my involvement with the program so far! I am so happy about my decision to join the Wolfpack and I’m excited to share my experiences as an out-of-state student.

During the school day, you can find me taking walks around campus, studying at Peele Hall, working out at Carmichael, picking up coffee at Starbucks, or taking a late-night Insomnia cookie run. I currently live in the Honors Village and have thoroughly enjoyed my time in the quad. When I’m not doing homework, I enjoy watching sports and cheering on NC State athletics. I also enjoy listening to music, watching the Phillies, playing pickleball, and building LEGOs.

In high school, I was involved in several organizations such as Student Government, Model UN, and the Cum Laude Society. So far in college, I’ve gotten involved with the NC State Chapter of College Mentors for Kids, Consulting Your Community, the Park Philanthropy Council, Park Under-Resourced Assistance, and the Park Ambassadors Program. I’m also looking to join an intramural sports team and I am excited to get involved with Service Raleigh and the Krispy Kreme Challenge which will occur on February 2, 2024.

I can’t wait to get involved with the Parent Ally Program here at Parents and Families Services, especially through our weekly Coffee Chats on Tuesdays and Fridays!

GO PACK,

Kiran Muttathil
