University Housing Student Positions

Encourage your student to look into student employment opportunities with NC State University Housing. Academic year positions, in addition to summer employment, are available to students to apply for and create a meaningful impact on their community. Working as a student assistant with university housing could entail numerous jobs. Some positions offered include community assistant, housing ambassador, resident advisor, and village mentor. These paid campus job opportunities allow students to participate in their community at NC State.

As a resident advisor (RA), I have cultivated relationships with my peers and facilitated community engagement. Acting as a resident advisor is a crucial live-in position for community development and residential learning. I have worked alongside other RA members of my community to organize events that residents attend and develop interpersonal relationships while participating in fun activities. I have thoroughly enjoyed this experience thus far and plan to continue working with University Housing.

Along with organizing activities and interacting with community members, there are great benefits alongside University Housing positions. Resident Advisors are allotted a stipend, a meal plan and provided with university housing on campus in their designated community. Compensation and benefits differ for each campus position. I encourage you to inform your student about the countless opportunities provided on campus.
