Campus Resources for New and Returning Students
Welcome back, Pack!
Now that the semester is in full swing, it’s a great time to encourage your student to take advantage of the many resources NC State has to offer. The university provides a wide range of support services designed to help students succeed academically and socially.
The transition to college can feel overwhelming, and some students may need professional support to navigate mental health challenges. The NC State Counseling Center offers individual counseling, group therapy, workshops, and crisis intervention. They also provide specialized support for students dealing with anxiety, depression, and stress. If your student is struggling emotionally or mentally, the Counseling Center can be an invaluable resource in helping them build coping strategies and strengthen their overall well-being.
For academic support, the NC State Academic Success Center is a fantastic resource. They provide a wide variety of free programs and services, including drop-in tutoring and group study sessions. Encourage your student to explore all that the Academic Success Center has to offer to help them thrive in their coursework.
Getting involved outside the classroom is also an important part of the college experience. With over 1,000 student organizations on campus, there’s truly something for everyone. The Get Involved website is a helpful database that allows students to browse and connect with registered organizations. Joining a student organization can help your student explore career interests, build friendships, and strengthen their sense of community at NC State.
