Getting Involved at NC State

Engaging academically, professionally and socially with the NC State community is an essential part of the college experience–and something every student should be encouraged to pursue. There are countless ways to connect with our campus; students just need to know where to look!

For those seeking involvement, NC State’s Get Involved website is the perfect place to start. With hundreds of clubs and organizations ranging from academic groups and cultural organizations to Fraternity and Sorority and special-interest clubs, there’s something for every student. The website provides details such as social media links, upcoming events and contact information, making it easy for students to find the right fit. I encourage all students to explore the options available, as the opportunities are endless.

On the professional side, this is an excellent time of the year to attend NC State’s career fairs. Hosted by different colleges and departments, these events connect students with employers across the Raleigh area and beyond. For students nearing graduation or seeking internships, career fairs open doors to potential employers. For others, they’re a valuable opportunity to practice networking and develop soft skills that will benefit them in any career path. More information is available through the NC State Career Development Center. Students can also check out many available job listings offered by the university through NC State’s own job portal, ePack.

Whether your student is new to campus or already a few years into their college journey, getting involved can be an incredibly rewarding experience. Encourage them to explore opportunities for engagement–academically, socially, and professionally. The connections they build today could lead to experiences and friendships that last a lifetime.
