Parking 101- Parents and Families Weekend 2025

Parents and Families Weekend 2025 is a busy weekend on campus, and we want to ensure you have all the necessary information for getting around campus.

Parking on Campus

Permits are enforced Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., in faculty/staff areas, commuter areas, and visitor parking locations. Residential parking areas are monitored Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to midnight and Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

We have collaborated with Transportation to offer virtual event permits that may be obtained in advance. There are both half-day and full-day options for Friday, Oct. 3. Please see below for instructions. Visitors without an event permit should use one of the designated visitor pay lots throughout campus. Hourly rates apply

This permit is NOT valid in reserved spaces, including, but not limited to RD, SV, and AS spaces. For assistance, please call the Transportation Office at 919-515-3424.

Event Permits are non-refundable.

Important: Due to construction, Morrill Drive is temporarily one-way for northbound traffic only. You will not be able to access Western Boulevard from Cates Avenue via Morrill Drive. Please use Dan Allen Drive or Pullen Road as an alternate route.

Game Day Parking

If you purchased a parking permit through Parents and Families Services, these will be mailed to the home address provided on your registration. Details about each lot are below.

  1. Frank Weedon Lot  This lot is approximately 0.75 miles from the outdoor practice field where the Parents and Families Pre-Game tailgate event will be held. This lot would offer a shorter walking distance to vehicles POST-game.
  2. Highway 54 A shuttle is offered from this lot that will drop guests off at the H7 entrance. This shuttle does offer transportation for H7 before and after the game. The walk from the drop-off location at H7 is approximately 0.75-1.00 miles from the event site.

Accessible parking is available at the Westchase Handicap Lot located at 4011 Westchase Blvd. for $30 credit only. An ADA shuttle service starts running.

Additional Parking Options

  • Red Terror: NC State’s game day shuttle. Park for free on campus and take the shuttle to and from the stadium. Learn more here.
  • Park on Your Own: There are many lots surrounding the area that are cash or credit lots upon arrival. These do fill up fast, and game day traffic is VERY heavy. Plan accordingly. As noted above, we do not manage surrounding lots; these are independent businesses that may open earlier or later than the standard 5 hrs indicated in other options.

DRIVING TO AND FROM CARTER-FINLEY STADIUM

Make game day as enjoyable as possible!  Plan your route to and from the stadium ahead of time by checking out the stadium area parking and driving information.

Due to major construction along Blue Ridge, Hillsborough, I-440 and Wade traffic patterns will be changing throughout the season. Please utilize a directions app (Waze or Google Maps) to ensure the quickest route to the stadium. Post game please be patient. Due to capacity crowds and road construction detours, we anticipate it will take longer leaving after the game than it has in traditional years. Learn more about the Blue Ridge & Hillsborough Road Construction.
