NC State’s Family of the Year contest is an annual university tradition hosted by the Office of Parents and Families Services during Parents and Families Weekend. This is a unique opportunity for students to show appreciation for their parents’ and families’ contributions to their success throughout their academic journey here at NC State. In addition to an amazing prize package, the winning family will be recognized during the NC State v. Louisville football game at Carter-Finley Stadium.

The award-winning nomination reflects four key themes: student support, encouragement, pride and creativity. Applications should showcase occasions where families are playing an important role in supporting their students while they achieve personal milestones at NC State. Additionally, it should convey depth and authenticity through meaningful storytelling, highlighting the family’s involvement in the nominee’s college experience.

Nominations for the 2026 Family of the Year have opened and will close on September 13, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Nominations must be submitted by a current NC State student. Please note that submissions from parents or family members will not be eligible.
