Tutoring Services

As we dive into the last part of the semester, finals season is quickly approaching. While there is still some time left before the first final exams begin, a great resource to take advantage of is tutoring around campus. Whether or not your student is doing a homework assignment or studying for an exam, the university offers various resources for tutoring and general academic guidance. These resources extend across majors and campuses!

To make the process of locating tutoring resources simple, we have combined a list of where and when tutoring occurs on campus and how it can be accessed!

The main resource on campus for tutoring is the Academic Success Center (ASC). The academic success center, located in D.H. Hill Jr Library, offers 1-on-1 tutoring in-person and virtually for students. Appointments can be made through the Navigate mobile app, Navigate website or by calling (919) 515-3163 during business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The ASC also offers drop-in tutoring from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on certain days of the week for some math, physics and chemistry courses.

As a student, I have taken advantage of almost all of the tutoring resources across campus, but my favorite is the Physics Tutorial Center (PTC). The PTC offers free walk-in tutoring for physics students Monday through Friday in Riddick room 317. While the specific times change semester to semester, I have always found a time that works for me to drop in and get help!

I hope your student can take advantage of these resources as we approach this finals season. Wishing them all the best for their finals and any other exams coming up! And as always, Go Pack!
