Congratulations to Our Newly Admitted Students!

Welcome to the Wolfpack, Class of 2027! On behalf of the Office of Parents and Families Services, Congratulations! This is a huge accomplishment, and there are many incredible opportunities awaiting you and your student. Parents and families are a crucial part of a student’s successful college career, and we are eager to welcome you to the Wolfpack community. We cannot wait to see what the new members of the Pack will #ThinkandDo here at NC State!

Once your student has been accepted to NC State, there are many resources that you both can engage with to learn more about the university, prepare yourselves for the next steps and stay up to date with all things related to the Wolfpack. It is recommended that your student continue to check their wolfPAW account for information about important upcoming events and deadlines for newly admitted students. Additionally, there are other ways that you and your student can get a better understanding of campus life while using NC State resources.

Newly Admitted Families – Next Steps

Whether it’s your first student going to college or you are a seasoned veteran with college admissions, you may be asking yourself “What Next?”

For starters, the best way to kickstart the path to joining the Wolfpack family is for your student to complete the New Student Checklist. This checklist is a resource which guides students through the next steps after being admitted to NC State.

We also recommend you and your student to register for Admitted Student Events (virtual or in-person) held this semester. These can range from Experience NC State, Facebook Live events and Academic College Sessions (registration is found in your student’s wolfPAW account).

Finally, New Student Orientation is a required program for all first-year and transfer students. Orientation is a way for students to experience campus, hear from many campus partners and prepare for the transition to college life. We also offer an optional Parents’ Orientation that runs concurrently with the student sessions. This is a great opportunity for parents and families to accompany their students to campus and learn more about their student’s future academic journey as well as resources available to Pack Families.

University Housing

There are many ways you can learn about University Housing before coming to visit campus. For newly admitted students, it is strongly encouraged to submit an application for housing as soon as possible, and your student can find more information regarding this process in their wolfPAW account. If you are interested in learning more about University Housing, you can reference the University Housing Open House Tour video or take a peek into dorm life with our Residence Hall Virtual Tours. You can also learn more about our campus as a whole using the Main Campus Virtual Tour. NC State offers a unique housing experience called Living and Learning Villages where you can live and engage with other like-minded students. For more information click here

Parents and Families Services

A helpful resource at NC State for incoming parents and families is our office, the Office of Parents and Families Services. We seek to make sure you are the most informed and engaged resource for your student. For parents wishing to receive communications from our office, students must go into their MyPack Portal and grant their parents access to create a Brickyard account. To ensure you will receive our communications you will want to check the “Communications” box at the bottom of the page. For more information, visit the Student Information Systems (SIS) Parents and Guardians Help Guide.

For more information about our support programs visit our website and connect with us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

You can always contact our Parents’ Helpline with any questions or concerns by calling (919) 515.2441 or by emailing ncstateparents@ncsu.edu.

We look forward to helping you navigate this transition to college!

Congratulations to you and your student for your accomplishments and hard work. We are so excited to welcome your family to the Wolfpack Family.

As Always, GO PACK!
