Goodbye 2021, Hello 2022

Happy 2022! As we welcome the Wolfpack back to campus for another semester, we are grateful for the past year but are even more excited to welcome a new year full of opportunities and growth for your students. There is no doubt that 2021 brought significant challenges, but we are so proud of the unity and strength of our Pack as we continue to persevere through the ups and downs.

Recap of 2021

Reflecting back on 2021, there were many amazing times that students were able to exhibit their Wolfpack spirit! Our Parents and Families Weekend 2021 included a great combination of in-person and virtual events that allowed students to spend time with their families while showing them what it means to be a part of the Pack. Additionally, our Red and White Week 2021 welcomed back many alumni and carried out several university-wide events that included a Chancellor’s address, cheering on the Wolfpack football team and remembering why NC State is always home. We also welcomed our new alumni at our Spring and Fall 2021 Commencement Ceremonies and celebrated their achievements with a whole lot of Pack pride. Speaking of Pack pride, another memorable moment of 2021 was when NC State Football Beat UNC by a score of 34-30 at our very own Carter-Finley Stadium. It doesn’t get much better than that!

Looking forward to 2022

Moving into 2022, we are very excited to welcome a great year full of exciting events! Our office, the Office of Parents and Families Services, is hosting several events that we are excited to share with you. Our First in the Pack Family Day is for first-generation college students and their families to come to campus to experience the NC State community together while attending a basketball game at our PNC Arena. Tickets and details are available on our website! Additionally, we are currently planning Spring Fling 2022, traditionally a three-day event that invites families to campus to engage in activities with their students. Details and dates will become available as they are finalized. We will also still be hosting our on-going virtual events, such as Spring 2022 Coffee Chats, Facebook Live Series and continuing our Second-Year Book Club for second-year parents and families. Lots to look forward to in 2022!

We appreciate all of your support as we transition into a new year and a new semester! We are excited to engage with more parents and families this year as we continue to create new initiatives and new ways for parents to get involved with our office. As always, go Pack!
