A Day in the Life of a Junior at NC State
Hello everyone! My name is Dylan Gray and today I will be taking this opportunity to share with you what a typical day looks like as a junior majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Supply Chain Management here at NC State.
My day usually starts with a 6:45 a.m. wake up, I get dressed and out the door so I can get to the gym at 7 a.m. Carmichael is our on campus gym. There is a large variety of equipment there to service any type of workout plan a student will need while at State from treadmills and lifting machines to rock climbing. I usually am done with my workout around 9 a.m. then I go back to my off campus apartment, take a shower and get ready for my day. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I work in Parents and Family Services from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and on Fridays from 12 p.m.-2 p.m.
My classes are Monday through Thursday and they start at 1:30 p.m. On Tuesdays, my first class is Statistics in SAS hall also known as the Math and Statistics building which is about a 15 minute walk from my apartment. Then I go to the business building, Nelson hall which is less than a 5 minute walk from my apartment for my Information Systems class, and then finish out my school day with Human Resources management class at 4:30. I get out at roughly 5:45 p.m. then I go back to my apartment and do my homework for the day. Studying here at NC State is very advantageous because the professors teaching you have years of experience in the very field you are studying, whether they retired or are currently working in the field. This helps a lot because not only do they teach you the material but they also relate it to on the job experience and their everyday work days.
I will usually go get dinner at one of the various dining halls here on campus around 7:30 p.m. then come back around 8 p.m. and finish up my homework. Afterward, I like to take my mind off the day by either playing video games with my friends or catching up on some of my favorite TV shows and movies before I go to bed.
I hope you enjoyed this and it provided you with some insight into what a student’s day typically looks like here at NC State.
Many thanks,
- Dylan Gray
